The Very Hungry Caterpillar Interactive Show invites young audiences to embark on a captivating journey through the pages of the beloved Eric Carle books. As the enchanting tales come to life on stage, children will be immersed in the world of vibrant colors, well known characters, and wonderful storytelling. Through the magic of live theater, this interactive experience sparks the imagination, encouraging children to actively engage with the stories through call and response activities, encouraging them to count, identify colors and even participate in simple reading exercises.

Created by Jonathan Rockefeller, this all-new, innovative stage production presents some of your favorite Eric Carle stories, brought to life in an intimate storytelling setting by world-class puppeteers and 45 handcrafted, magical puppets. We invite you to leap onto the page and introduce your little ones to an interactive Eric Carle experience. Filled with color, wit, imagination - and one very hungry caterpillar.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Interactive Show runs approximately 50 minutes with no intermission.

No photography is permitted during the show – it is distracting to performers and discourteous to other audience members.

Our audience members range from 6 months to 96 years old. We recommend the show for all ages! And we never encourage children to be quiet – our only request is that we are respectful to our neighbors and accompanying adults leave phones turned off until after the show!

A ticket is required for all people attending (12 months and older) and there is no price difference between adult and children tickets.
Please note, all children must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older at all times.
Lap seats are available for children under 12 months. Please contact the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo for questions regarding lap seating policies.
