Hailing from Correze in south-western France, San Salvador is a six-voice and percussion collective that combines Occitan poetry with hypnotic vocal harmonies propelled by surging percussion. Their compositions use the Occitan language—a Romance language spoken in southern France, Italy’s Occitan Valleys, and in parts of Spain and Monaco— as a rhythmic instrument, combining poetry with hypnotic vocal harmonies cascading over shifting patterns of compelling percussion to create their own songs.

Dorrance Dance is an award-winning tap dance company based in New York City. Founded in 2011 by Artistic Director and 2015 MacArthur Fellow Michelle Dorrance, the company shares the incredibly dynamic range that tap dance has to offer through performance & education.

A drummer, composer, and producer from Chesapeake, Virginia, Nate Smith is known for his visceral, instinctive, and deep-rooted style of drumming. This has led to three Grammy nominations and work with esteemed artists, including: Pat Metheny, Dave Holland, Brittany Howard, Van Hunt, The Fearless Flyers, Norah Jones, and Somi. Smith fuses his original compositions with an eclectic mix of music, including everything from jazz to R&B to hip-hop to pop.

He is known for his diverse and innovative programming, drawing upon a repertoire encompassing five centuries, as well as frequently collaborating with composers on new music for the organ.

The Lone Bellow are an articulate and emotionally intelligent roots rock group that came together after three Southerners pulled up stakes and moved to Brooklyn. Their music embraces the dynamics of bluegrass and gospel, the fire of rock & roll, and the passion of the blues while sharing tales of folks trying to make something of their lives, sometimes against long odds.

“Voices of Mississippi” is an immersive multimedia experience and concert event that celebrates the people and art of the southern blues, gospel, and storytelling traditions. Based on and inspired by the acclaimed 2019 double Grammy winning four-disc box set of the same name, “Voices of Mississippi,” the program features musical performances by notable Mississippi artists, including Grammy award winner and Blues Hall of Famer Bobby Rush, fife master Shardé Thomas, and Luther and Cody Dickinson of the North Mississippi Allstars, plus archival film and images.

Oscar nominee, five-time Grammy-winner and 2018 USA Fellow trumpeter/composer Terence Blanchard  has been a consistent artistic force for making powerful musical statements concerning painful American tragedies – past and present. Watkins Family Hour is a bluegrass musical collaborative led by siblings Sara Watkins and Sean Watkins, who also form two-thirds of the Americana music group Nickel Creek.
