Grades K-12 | 45 Min. | In-School Performance
Kalabanté Productions, founded in 2007 by Guinean-born artist Yamoussa Bangoura, is a Montreal-based company that brings African culture to life through circus arts. Rooted in Yamoussa’s early training in Guinea and his professional experience with international companies like Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize, Kalabanté reflects a deep commitment to both artistic excellence and cultural heritage.
Their performance, Afrique en Cirque, is inspired by daily life in Guinea and showcases the beauty, energy, and artistry of West African culture. Students experience breathtaking acrobatics paired with live Afro-Jazz, traditional percussion, and the rich tones of the kora. The show is a dynamic blend of physical skill and musical vibrancy that celebrates African youth, resilience, and creativity.
