Kattam and his Tam-Tams

"Your Passport to the Cultures of the World” - Join percussionist Kattam on a vibrant journey through the rhythms of Africa, the Middle East, and India — musical traditions he has mastered through immersive studies with renowned teachers across the globe.

Students will explore the dynamic sounds of the djembe and discover essential drumming techniques through fun, hands-on rhythm activities using everyday objects. They'll also get the exciting opportunity to perform along with music tracks, experiencing the thrill of playing as part of a band!

Duration: 50 minutes

Max Participants: 40 if each participant has a drum; if no one has a drum then a class of 20-30.
If djembes are not available, any hand drum, small percussion, buckets, sticks, almost anything, will work.

Other Needs (production needs, if any): Kattam brings his pedal board, headset mic, kick pedal and a djembe. School to provide a sound system with a minimum of 3 inputs.
