Patti LuPone, last seen starring on Broadway opposite Mia Farrow in the Jen Silverman comedy The Roommate (2024)directed by Jack O’Brien, and in the new Marvel TV series Agatha All Along (2024) on Disney+, is coming to San Luis Obispo with her acclaimed theatrical concert Matters of the Heart. Celebrates the 25th Anniversary of her acclaimed theatrical concert Matters of the Heart, which she performed for extended runs on Broadway, London’s West End, as well as on tour nationally and internationally. In Matters of the Heart, LuPone takes the audience on an exploration of the crimes, affairs and the mysteries of the heart, with electrifying performances of over two dozen love songs ranging from Broadway favorites to works by today’s top contemporary songwriters. 


Three-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone is renowned for her iconic roles on stage, including Joanne in Company (Marianne Elliott’s production), Madame Rose in Gypsy, and the title role in the original Broadway production of Evita.

Her recent New York stage credits include Helena Rubinstein in War Paint (Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle nominations), Irene in Shows for Days, Anna 1 in The Seven Deadly Sins with New York City Ballet, Joanne in the New York Philharmonic’s Company, Cathy in David Mamet’s The Anarchist, and Lucia in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (multiple award nominations). Other major roles include Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle nominations), Regina in Regina, Fosca in Passion (PBS broadcast), and solo performances in Matters of the Heart and Patti LuPone on Broadway.

Additional highlights include roles in Noises Off, The Old Neighborhood, Master Class (Broadway and London), and productions with Los Angeles Opera (The Ghosts of Versailles, Mahagonny) and Philharmonia Baroque (To Hell and Back).

In London, she won two Olivier Awards for Joanne in Company and Fantine in Les Misérables, and was nominated for her portrayal of Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard.
